My wife Laura and I made the first of many spring trips to Saxon harbor to fish for Coho’s, for those of you who do not know Saxon harbor is located on the Wisconsin - Michigan border of lake Superior. This little harbor like many on lake Superior offers great near shore fishing without the crowds of people.

The weather was perfect with a light south wind, calm water conditions. This is the earliest that I’ve been on lake Superior in a boat and the water temps were still a little cold 37 degrees.

The fish are still scattered , but we still managed to catch four Coho’s and lost three others in five hours of trolling stick baits.

We will be heading back up tomorrow to try again, then to Green Bay on Friday for walleye’s

Good luck

Brian

Re: Spring Coho's

Sounds awesome, Brian! I am so jealous. Keep us all up to speed on your success and I hope the weather stays in your favor - red skies at night!
