My name is Brian Tremel. I'm a Millwright by trade. I also own Northwoods Tackle and Musky Nuts Guide service. Being a guide and lure manufacturer gives me the opportunity for plenty of time on the water.

I have fished for musky my whole life ,catching my first over thirty years ago on Cresent lake in Rhinelander,WI. But the musky bug never bit me as hard as it did when we moved to Phillips,Wi. With plenty of prime musky waters within minutes of our home and a group of local musky addicts to help fuel the fire, I became obsessed.

While I still enjoy fishing the spring trout and salmon runs on lake Superior, Early season walleye and crappies on local lakes and rivers, once musky season opens that's it for me. 

What I will try to do with this blog is to write a journal of my season. Starting shortly  with spring trolling for salmon and trout( I will get to try the new teaser leaders for coho). Then some river walleye fishing, Early season crappies, Then a bunch of musky fishing. I will pass along information on any tackle, tactics. locations, and interesting people I meet along the way.
